As a toxicologist who spent years working for the EPA’s Senior Medical Officer in Washington, D.C., Tom Moses saw firsthand how the government combined science, law and good policy to create stronger regulations to address rapidly growing public concern for how toxic chemicals and industrial contaminants impact our bodies and the places where we live.
After earning his law degree, Tom cut his teeth as environmental attorney, first in the Patents department of a major chemical company, and then as claims counsel for a global insurance carrier. In time, he developed a reputation as an expert in the field of environmental law, and what regulators and lawmakers can do to protect businesses, people, and the environment.
Tom gained a deep understanding of the storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous materials and toxic substances, the liability created by their release and the flurry of fines, penalties, litigation, and insurance claims that follow it. With this deep knowledge, Tom saw an opportunity to provide shippers, private fleets, and their insurance carriers with a well-designed spill response system—providing reliable 24/7 coverage for virtually any spill anywhere—to ensure regulatory compliance while reducing risks through prompt and effective spill management.
And so in 1990 he founded Spill Center with the goal of becoming the most trusted 24/7 spill response system for spill generators and responders.
Today, many of the world’s leading fleet operators, chemical companies and their insurers rely on Spill Center’s response management system to reduce risks, limit liability, and reduce the need to defend against spill claims. Spill Center customers don’t worry about noncompliance fines, either – no Spill Center customer has ever been fined for a spill-related response or reporting compliance infraction.
As a growing company, Spill Center is constantly seeking talented, experienced professionals who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career while helping responsible companies keep their people and the environment safe.
We seek people that adhere to our core values – teamwork, leadership, and integrity – with a deep commitment to helping our clients succeed. We are professional in every action, yet we have fun and look forward to coming to work in the morning. Teamwork is crucial, and each individual makes a difference.
So if you are ready to work with a collaborative, knowledgeable team, doing important work you can be proud of, we’d love to hear from you. Simply send your resume to us at careers@spillcenter.com.
